How Do I Reset Premiere Pro To Default

  • The other day my copy of Adobe Premiere Pro started exhibiting strange behaviour: new projects opened with four timelines (three of which were always empty), audio never made it to the target track (only ever to track 6) – so I thought, perhaps I’ll reset my preferences.
  • NOTE: These 3 track height keyboard shortcuts are assigned in the default Adobe Premiere Pro keyboard layout. But Vashi’s custom shortcuts are much more practical. Because navigating the timeline quickly is critical to editing, it makes sense to have theses track height.

Have you ever imported a bunch of photos, perhaps you are working on a slideshow, and placed them on your timeline only to figure out later that all the still images have a duration that is to long or too short? There’s a real easy way to change those images all at once.

Adobe Premiere Pro CC is an excellent video editing software that can be used for a multitude of different formats. For new editors, there’s a first step that can seem immediately off-putting — Premiere Pro’s sequence settings.

Right click on them and select “Speed/Duration…”

Change the duration to the length you want. In this example I want to go from 3 seconds per image to a new duration of 1 second per image.

Make sure the you checkmark the “Ripple Edit, Shifting Trailing Clips” option so your changes don’t create any gaps.

After you hit ok all of you still images will be 1 second each.
